3 Bridesmaid Dresses for a Classic Wedding

May 1, 2020      amicadavis

I MUST START with probably the most unpopular opinion I might ever share: Matching Dresses can still be Elegant. For my classic themed brides out there- stay true to you. If you don’t want to mix and match, Don’t! There is nothing wrong with having your girls in the same dress. Now, let’s start the show.

#1 Skye Satin Dress by Revelry

I think this is the most Timeless yet Trendy dress I have ever seen!! Although satin can be a little stubborn, there are tons of rouching to make this dress very forgivable. *leave your Spanx at home*

Pros:

  • Gorgeous, obvi
  • Easy to read Size Chart and “How to Measure” page if you need to order online
  • Available in Sizes 0-32 and a variety of colors

Cons:

  • Not cheap, coming in at $245

#2 Grace Convertible Dress by Birdy Grey

WAIT. I know you’re thinking “A Convertible Bridesmaid Dress? No Way! That’s so tacky!”

Hear me out, I have personally worn Birdy Grey as a bridesmaid, and I have even been to BG HQ and met the owner Grace. If there’s one thing I can say, it’s that they are all about QUALITY. And it shows. They have every size, and your girls can wear this any way that looks best on them. It’s a Win-Win! And they’re variety of colors are truly beautiful and classic.

Pros:

  • Less than a Benjamin on this baby, coming in right at $99.
  • Quality fabrics, seams, and everything that will make the dress look great with minimal alterations.

Cons:

  • They do run a bit long and will probably need a quick hem.

#3 Dylan Satin Charmeuse Maxi by BHLDN

Pictured left to right: Champagne, Lilac Smoke, Lilac Smoke Back, and a DUPE!

You caught me, I snuck in a dupe! The red dress is the David’s Bridal Crepe-Back Satin One-Shoulder.

My sister actually tried this one on in Champagne and I thought it was stunning on her! The fabric was so soft and although at a cheaper price point, seemed like it could hang with the best of them at BHLDN.

BHLDN Pros:

  • Per the only website description: “A glamorous one-shoulder neckline tops off this sleek maxi dress in luxurious satin charmeuse.” Seems like they think the dress will speak for itself! 😉
  • Size 0-16, and 16W to 26W in Plus

BHLDN Cons:

  • $220 price point, but this site accepts Afterpay to break up the payments into smaller ones!

Conclusion:

Remember that it’s YOUR day. So many brands are doing much better at offering a plethora of sizing for bridesmaid dresses, so going with the right company will make your girls feel comfortable wearing a dress that embodies your vision. Don’t feel pressured to ask for too many opinions, and if you are in love with a dress that is outside the groups budget, maybe consider pitching in with a gift card for your girls to ease the burden.

XOXO, Amica

2 years ✌🏼 We sure made each of the last 730 2 years ✌🏼

We sure made each of the last 730 days count. New jobs, becoming pup parents, being coworkers on a job site. Being excited, miserable, uncertain, grateful, spontaneous. Traveling to NYC and the PNW. Moving to a new city. 275 crunchwraps. Becoming extreme DIYers. No idea what the next 2 years will bring but I know it will be great. 🫶🏼
